Happy New Year! A new year brings New Year’s Resolutions, and if you’re like most Americans, exercise and diet are at the top of the list. This site suggests that up to 45% of people make some kind of resolution, with over half giving up or giving in after six months.
If you’re serious about setting and achieving a resolution, this article has some helpful tips on how to make your goals achievable as well as more stats on the more common resolutions and success rate. In short, resolutions have a better success rate when they are specific, realistic, challenging (but not too difficult), and have some way to check your progress.
We have several ways to help you with your health and nutrition goals through bootcamps, personal training, health coaching and a whole lot more. Stop by or call and let us know how we can help you achieve your goals. If you are on Facebook, check out our clinics (Le Mars, Orange City, North Iowa, and Okoboji) for updated info on our fitness offerings and for healthy tips!
The recipe of the month is Cajun inspired – Red Beans and Rice. Rice and beans are a super healthy combination of proteins and fiber, and are generally low in fat if you can avoid adding things like sausage and bacon grease (as they are traditionally prepared).
May 2014 be a year of heath and happiness for you and you family!
