Rose is a native of Bellevue, Iowa. Rose began her occupational therapy career in 2012, with experience in both pediatrics and geriatrics in the greater Atlanta, Georgia area. She began specializing in hand therapy in 2014 while integrating neuro-rehabilitation. Rose returned to the Des Moines metro area in Iowa in 2018, working as a hand therapy occupational therapist, and is grateful for the opportunity to provide quality upper extremity rehabilitation in a genuine Midwest/Iowa-style clinic setting, which Home Town Physical Therapy specializes in offering.
Rose is a physical agent modality certified occupational therapist and trained in integrating Applied Functional Science, a method of understanding how the whole body works together and affects the upper extremity in coordinated function. She specializes in upper extremity/hand therapy rehabilitation of occupational therapy and the integrated use of neuro re-education as the nervous system heals following a repetitive, work-related, or traumatic injury, such as finger tip to shoulder fractures, sprains, tendinopathies, nerve injuries, and amputations/wounds. Rose's skills also include custom fabrication of orthopedic, pediatric fine motor development, EDS/hypermobility, workers’ compensation, and adult brain injury rehabilitation.
Rose lives in the Clive/West Des Moines area with her husband, son, daughter, and dog, Skip (black lab/Saint Bernard). She loves being back in Iowa, where Midwest family values, work ethic, and lifestyle are a neighborhood reality. Rose enjoys playing the piano, being outdoors, flower gardening, and pairing American Sign Language (ASL) with music.
